Immobilier Causses et Vézère is the new name for Agence WILSON at THENON. Agence WILSON was started in 1971 in BERBIGUIERES, in the Dordogne valley by Keith WILSON and his wife. Charles GILLOOLEY joined Keith in 1985, and his wife Gil KENDALL joined the team a couple of years later. When Keith retired in 1991, Charles and Gil took over, and gradually expanded the business to five offices. In the autumn of 2006 Charles and Gil decided to split the group of five agencies up, keeping the agency in THENON, and selling the four remaining ones in LE BUGUE, SARLAT, ST. CYPRIEN and LALINDE to a company who owns agencies in the south of the Dordogne area. Gil, along with their son Christopher, stayed with Agence WILSON, and now manages all six of the new group’s agencies! Charles runs the THENON one with Angela MARTYN, his negotiator, and is branching out into property management and lettings. The THENON agency was renamed IMMOBILIER CAUSSES ET VEZERE, reinforcing its identity with the THENON area. |
All the agencies are in the SIA (Service Inter Agences) scheme, whereby properties on sole agency mandates are shared amongst the agencies within the scheme, making it almost 30 agencies in the Dordogne, and hundreds in France, who can share property details and clients. IMMOBILIER CAUSSES ET VEZERE still works closely with Agence WILSON and all their properties are available in each agency. |

Charles GILLOOLEY has lived and worked in the Dordogne for 29 years, and has been an estate agent for 22 years, having initially taught in a private school. He is bilingual and a French / English translator, so legal documents are no problem to him, and the agency makes translations or explanatory notes available for all the main contracts. He holds French qualifications in estage agency and also holds the “carte professionnelle”, the estate agent’s licence necessary to be a registered estate agent in France. |
